WORST DEALER EVER

This must be the most unprofessional used car dealer I have ever seen.Jason and Tony are doggy.I bought an Audi A3 2005 plate.I took the car to an official Audi workshop. They found faults worth £1700.00.I called up Edwards Car Company,Tony answer and was really unhelpful he even hung up on me.I spoke to Jason(Owner)said he will only fix a fraction of the jobs.I was really unhappy because I saved money three years for a car. Just the worst experience ever. I am reporting these people to Rogue traders. They lied and refused to repair the vehicle I bought from them. I am speaking to trading standards and no surprise they are familar with this firm, apparently Jason has been prosecuted by them before. More »

Avoid this seller at all times, after care service is non existent, would not recognise an obvious gearbox fault and warranty never arrived through the post as promised. Quick enough to take your money ! Biggest con man i have ever come across that is connected with the motor trade, this dealer should be banned from selling cars. Idiots like this give sellers a bad name. Never ever purchase a car from this goon !!!! …

My wife and i recently purchased a 1999 SUZUKI Grand Vitara 2.5 V6 from the Edwards Car Company and that’s when the car purchase from hell began. We live in Cornwall and our delivery for the car has been a nightmare. We waited in on many different days for a car to arrive that never did until just a few days ago. The first transporter bringing the car to us had a blow out on the way down and the driver never phoned us to let us know what had happened, which resulted in another wasted day. We eventually had a call from the manager John, saying that another transporter would pick up our vehicle from the other transporter and bring it down to us the following day. The manager John phoned us around 1pm to say our car should be with us soon. We waited and waited and just before 6pm John phoned to say that the car was 5mins away, the reason the driver did not ring was that John had given him the wrong telephone numbere. The transporter arrived and we eventually got the car off and our px vehicle was then loaded on to the transporter. The driver was not even told he had a vehicle to pickup and bring back. The documents, rear headrests and luggage cover that were missing from the vehicle, but replaced by The Edwards Car Company were not even sent down with the car as agreed. We have a disabled tax on our vehicle and with no documents sent as promised we have a car we cannot tax, so cannot be driven. We phoned up and complained and the manager John said he would pay for the road tax, so we could use the vehicle, as a gesture of good will. It would be sent special delivery and be with us 9am the next day. Guess what no tax disc arrived and we had a doctors appointment the same day 15/9/2011 which had been booked in weeks ago and as we are both diabetic we really should have gone, but what with all the hassle of the garage we felt too unwell to go and with no car tax we could not use the car anyway. The postman delivered the Mot certificate and previous ones with a few receipts and service book later on in the morning. We had to cancel our doctors appointment and arrange another for the following week. We also have two dentist appointments next week. We still have a vehicle we cannot use as we still cannot tax it, as the V5 log book is not with us either as promised. The car was supposed to have been valeted prior to delivery and clearly had not, as it reaked of dog smell which gagged me. There was also dog hair everywhere a hole in the lower back of the drivers seat and a hole in the drivers carpet in the footwell. The warranty documents we were promised were also absent. The fuel filler flap does not lock as the catch the pin goes through is snapped off. On opening the back door the carpet trim strip was all loose and again dog hair and smell evident. The front grill has securing clips missing and is all loose. We phoned up Edwards Car Company again and spoke to John the manager who asked me to sort out what we needed and they would pay for it. This is still ongoing. My wife has been in tears and we are both very stressed out to say the least. We had a very heated discussion with the manager John and we still have no conclusion to this situation. We have been in touch with Trading Standards and are acting as per their advise. We would say to anyone even our worst enemy, if we had one, please do not buy or consider buying a car from The Edwards Car Company and put yourselves through what we are currently going through. They should not be allowed to sell cars to anyone and their garage should be closed down and spare us all the hassle that buying a car from them entails. We have bought a few cars in our life time, but this has to be the car buying experience from hell!!!! Never, never, ever, again. Today is Friday 16th September 2011, the postman has been and still no road tax as promised yesterday on the phone to John, so cannot use the vehicle. We will be keeping you all updated as to what happens next.

Update on my last review placed on 16/09/2011 as promised. Car tax and V5 turned up today 17/09/2011, but was not posted when John the manager said it was, he had in fact lied to us, hence the delay. As we could not get to our doctors appointment we missed nearly 3 days medication as it had run out. We would have collected our new medication if we could have attended our original appointment on the 15/09/2011. We spoke to John the manager late saturday afternoon, he said he was with a customer and would call us back, guess what he did not. We phoned him again on sunday and he said he was putting cars away and would ring us back with a decision as to giving us some compensation. Guess what he did not, he said he forgot. We had an email from him monday morning 19/09/2011 saying he was sorry he did not call us. He did ring us later that morning and said he would let us know what he would offer us as compensation. We got back home from our reappointed doctors appointment, turned on the computer and there was an email from him saying “I have spoken to the garage and asked them to order the parts for you, I can confirm that they have the go ahead and are going to call me in the morning to confirm the order. Now with regards to the tax on the vehicle that is worth £245.00, this you will get back from the DVLA, so thats £245.00 that you will get, so delivery was for free, you have the tax and those parts have been ordered I think that is a fair compensation. If you don’t think this is fair I will sadly have to ask you to take your second choice and go through the solicitor.” He had already waived the delivery cost, due to problems getting the car to us in the first place. If he had dealt with our vehicle purchase properly from the beginning and had sent the documents down with the vehicle as promised, so we could tax it, we could have kept and attended our original doctors appointment, collected our medication and he would not have had to pay for the road tax so we could use the car. There is also a problem with grabbing and squeaking brakes and a very audible rattling noise from the engine. So again we are waiting to here from John the manager of Edwards Car Company so we can bring some conclusion to this car purchase from hell. We have asked to have our old vehicle and deposit back with a form of compensation, so we can do a proper deal with a professional garage/car dealer. My wifes blood pressure was very high thanks, to the stress this car transaction has put on both of us. Do not buy a car from this dealer if you want to stay in good health and save you phone bill from going into overdrive. We will be keeping you all updated as to what happens next. …

Idly googling this morning & found these reviews & its good to see that the buffoons from this Company haven’t changed in the last 14 months since I had the pleasure of dealing with them. I had a similar experience to everyone else with false promises to clinch the sale then failure to deliver them after money had changed hands. To be honest, I’d have probably bought the car without the promises but seeing as they were made I felt obliged to pursue them to the end. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I ended up in the Small Claim Court with these lying, thieving, cheating scumbags & it was great fun watching their “Company Representative” try & squirm his way out of the lies they had made. Finally & most hilariously, not only did I win everything in question but the judge decreed I should be paid expenses for the time taken for me to travel to court so he said why not say a couple of hours at about £12ph so lets call it £25 & the DickHead from Edwards said “I think you’ll find its £24 M’Lud”!!! After losing substantially more, all he was bothered about was a lousy quid. In my opinion, avoid these imbeciles like the plague but if you’ve had the misfortune to come into contact with them, take them all the way. They tell so many lies they can’t remember the truth so get your story straight & stick to it. They’ll trip themselves up in the end & you’ll get everything back you want…. I also know Trading Standards are all over them like a rash so why not contact them & make a statement to help support their case. Go on, you know it makes sense, make this company feel the financial & emotional hardship they impose on so many of their “valued” customers…

I am just thankful that I have documented EVERY detail of contact (and no contact!) that I have had with these low-life scum bags… and hope that my pursuing pays off. I am reassured by other comments on here. Currently my life is a living hell dealing with these people. They WILL NOT get away with it. They should be closed down. I particularly wish ‘John’ had stayed in Portugal and NOT come back as they had at one point suggested. They seem to know he, in particular, causes issues… so WHY WHY WHY is he back and fobbing people off with lies and false promises. Oh, I could rant for days… …
